James W. Swanger, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. He was 74 years old. James was born in Middletown, OH on February 13, 1943 to Wilbur and Blanch (nee Scholly) Swanger. He married Carol Brahm and together they had three children.
Jim found great joy in farming the land and caring for his animals. He had an artistic eye and loved carving, sculpting and creating beautiful paintings and drawings. Sunday afternoons were always spent watching the races.
Between working at Taylor Electric and keeping up with the farm, Jim found time to work as a volunteer firefighter and EMT…and run a few marathons. Despite the busy schedule, family came first. He always found time for racing go-carts or long weekends at horse shows.
James is survived by his wife Carol, his children, Michael (Sue) Swanger, Matthew (Emily) Swanger & Susan (Matthew) Sandlin; grandchildren, Katie, Maddie, Mason, Danny, Keegan, Evie & Ella; sister, Joanne Swanger; brother, John Swanger. And his four legged daughter, Clara. James is further survived by other relatives and friends.
