James Dennis Peterson of Saukville was call home to join his brother John on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 81. He was born on December 17, 1936 at the Milwaukee County Children's Home to Palmer and Clara Peterson. Jim, brother John and sister June were the first set of triplets born at that location.
Jim and his brother John (who was wheelchair bound) resided at the Miller foster home in Saukville and attended Port Washington High School. Following graduation Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force where he worked as a cook for 4 years. He returned to Saukville to be with John and was employed at Freeman Chemical.
Jim and John were avid history buffs. Over the years the brothers were able to record the history of Saukville through pictures and artifacts. This information was eventually published into a book entitled "Saukville, A Photo History". Three additional publications detailed the UCC church in Wisconsin, ministers and the stained-glass windows of St. Peter's UCC. Jim has donated his collection over the last 3 years to the library in Saukville where it is available for viewing.
As a life time member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ (presently Parkside Community UCC), Jim was very involved in church activities, especially the annual rummage sale and maintenance of the church facilities.
Jim is survived by his sisters Eileen Schroeder, Diane (Patrick) McNulty and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings John, June, Marion, Donald and Richard.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday November 16, 2018 at Parkside Community UCC (166 W. Dekora St. Saukville, WI 53080). The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Private burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to Parkside Community UCC or a charity of your choice.
A very special thank you to Bill Ballbach for his around the clock attention to Jim and to Milan Estates for their excellent care during Jim's residency.
The Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is honored to assist the family. On-line condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
