JAMES M. SCHOWALTER Mr. Jim Schowalter of Highway W in the Town of Saukville passed away on Thursday June 5 2008 at Columbia-St. Maryrsquo;s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon following a massive heart attack suffered earlier in the week. He was 78 years old. Jim was born on July 20 1929 in the Town of Saukville son of Anthony and Carol Roos Schowalter. Mr. Schowalter served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was united in marriage with Shirley Mehring at Friedenrsquo;s Evangelical Church in Port Washington on June 21 1952. She preceded in death in 1959. He later married June Nagrocki at Freidenrsquo;s on June 6 1961. She preceded him in death in 2003. Jim worked as a machinist with Mercury Marine in Cedarburg and retired as a foreman after 26 years. Later he worked with the Cedarburg School District doing maintenance work. Jim was a longtime member of Friedenrsquo;s Evangelical Church as well as a member of American Legion Post 82. He enjoyed going on bus trips playing cards fishing boating and was a frequent helper at the Food Pantry. Jim had a talent for fixing almost anything. He liked spending time at the family cottage on Wallace Lake as well as spending time with family and his numerous friends. Jim is survived by his children: Susan Schowalter of Port Washington and Scott (Julie) Schowalter of Grafton 4 grandchildren: Nichole Shannon Brent and Amber and his special great-granddaughter Johanna. He is further survived by his fiance Barbara Achterberg of West Bend sister Dolores (Robert) Schmitz of Saukville brother Robert (Pam) Loof of California brother-in-law James (Mary) Nagrocki of Texas and sisters-in-law JoAnne (Earl) Jacobson Judy Nagrocki of West Bend and Shirley Nagrocki of Virginia nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by two wives: Shirley and June his son Stuart and sister Kathleen Singletary. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 10th leaving from the Eernisse Funeral Home (1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington) at 6:30 and going to Friedenrsquo;s Ev. Church for services at 7PM. Pastor Don Zahurance will officiate. Jim will later be laid to rest with his family at Union Cemetery Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-6:30 PM.
