Mr. James Kollatz of Germantown, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Monday afternoon, January 10, 2022, at Harbor Campus in Port Washington where he had been residing for the past three years. He was 81.
James was born in Milwaukee, son of Harry and Ruth Gering Kollatz. He grew up in Milwaukee and attended local schools, graduating from Custer High School, Class of 1958, before serving in the US Army. On July 16, 1966 James was united in marriage with Betty Jane Lee. The couple settled in Milwaukee and raised their family. Betty Jane preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Kollatz was employed at American Can Company in Milwaukee for 27 years, retiring in 1993.
James enjoyed going to the movies, playing cards and cribbage, and collecting ornamental knives and painted ponies. He was a sports fan and liked cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Survivors include his daughter Linda (Gene) Kotlyarsky of Mequon, grandchildren Christopher, Michelle, Kimberly, Cameron, and Evan, great-grandchildren CJ, Cory, Calia, and Camiah. He is further survived by brother Harry (Lorena) Kollatz, Jr. of Richmond, VA, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. James was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane, their daughter Christine Blackburn, and brothers Robert and Richard Kollatz.
Private family services will be held.
He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
