Mr. James O. Kofler
Mr. James Kofler of Port Washington, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. He was 80 years old. James was born July 20, 1935 in Milwaukee, the son of Otto and Olga (nee Broetzmann) Kofler. He worked as a lithographer at Mill Print in Milwaukee from 1955-1970, and then at Moebius in Milwaukee until his retirement in 1994. On July 28, 1956, he was united in marriage with Marlene Taubenhein in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1988. On March 3, 1994, he was united in marriage with Kay (nee Heinzelman) Esselmann at Friedens Church in Port Washington.
James was the proud owner of a 1931 Ford Model A, and belonged to the Model A Club in the Port Washington area. He had enjoyed attending his church's bible studies, hunting, fishing and woodworking.
James is survived by his wife Kay and his son Scott (Karen) Kofler of Germantown. He is further survived by his son-in-law Jeffrey Dahlke of Sturtevant, step-children Robin (Andrew) Meyer of Port Washington, Greg Esselmann of CA and Brad Esselman of Port Washington, 4 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Marlene Kofler, his daughter Debra Dahlke and sister Shirley Furlick.
Funeral Services will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Pastor Brandon Lemons will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-6PM. He will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Milwaukee.
