Went to Heaven on September 18, 2017 in Grafton, WI at age 81. James was born on September 26, 1935, son of Michael and Juliana Asmann Kailas. Jim showed interest and promise in the field of womens dress design, spending time in Chicago at design school. He then began his long and distinguished teaching career in California in the Millbrae School District in September 1966. He also taught at Highland School, Spring Valley School and Taylor Middle School. Jim was a skilled and devoted educator who was loved by his students as well as respected and admired by his colleagues. Mr. Kailas retired in June of 1996 after thirty years of teaching and moved to his home in the Town of Grafton. In 2001 he met Keith Goodspeed. The couple enjoyed traveling and were involved in their community. Jim is survived by Keith, seven nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces & -nephews. He is preceded in death by one sister.
