Obituary

James Knauer Jim Knauer passed away on Tuesday, January 26th at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI at the age of 75. Jim was born in Oshkosh, WI on November 4th, 1945, son of Martin and Donna (Cleland) Knauer. Jim grew up in Appleton, WI and was the first graduating class of Xavier High School. On February 11th, 1978, Jim married Sue Kalupa. They moved from Thiensville to Port Washington in 1980. Jim was a Territory Manager for School Specialty for 47 years. He truly enjoyed the relationships he built with his ever-changing customers. Jim retired in 2016. Jim's biggest passion was boating on Lake Michigan. He and his wife have kept a boat in the beautiful Port Washington Marina for over 30 years, where they developed lasting friendships with other marina tenants and the marina staff. Jim was happiest when he was fishing, cruising or just relaxing on his boat. Jim is survived by his wife Sue of Port Washington and son Andy (Denise) of Random Lake. He is further survived by his sister Marcia (Tony) of Appleton, brother Tom (Debbie) of Luxemburg, sister Kris (Patrick) of Menasha and brother-in-law Lee Kalupa of Oconomowoc. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepbrothers Rudy and Bill Knauer. No formal service will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center for their excellent and compassionate care.
