Obituary

Jacqueline Mary Kaltenbrun of Saukville, lovingly known as “Jackie,” was born on Feb. 25, 1945, and passed away on Jan. 12, 2026. She lived a life rooted in faith, love and deep devotion to her family and community.

Jackie was the beloved wife of Frederick “Kurt” Kaltenbrun, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on commitment, friendship and unwavering support for one another.

She was a proud graduate of Homestead High School and a lifelong, devoted Catholic. Jackie was a faithful and longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church, where her faith guided the way she lived, always with compassion, generosity and care for others.

Jackie was the loving mother of two children, Dawn (Bob) Schueller of Auburn, Ala., and Ryan (Jenny) Kaltenbrun of Rockford, Ill. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Jake (Melissa) Schueller, Becca Schueller, Eric Schueller, Ayden (Abby) Kaltenbrun and Dylan (Rose) Kaltenbrun, and a cherished great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Frances, Anne Charles and Bella, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents John and Julia Helm, her sister Betty Hauser, her brothers Bud Helm and George Helm, sister-in-law Carol Schommer and brother-in-law Danny Plageman.

She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Plageman and Sandy Helm and her brothers-in-law Wally Hauser and Steve Schommer.

Known for her loving heart, caring nature and genuine friendship, Jackie had a special gift for making people feel seen and loved. She shared this gift through her many years in food service, especially as a chef at Concordia University in Mequon.

A Catholic Mass will be held, followed by a celebration of life, in the summer of 2026. Details will be shared at a later time.

Jackie’s legacy of faith, love and kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church - Immaculate Conception Church Site.
