Obituary

Jack Joe Neuswanger, age 91 of Cedarburg traveled to heaven on December 3rd to join his parents John and Lucille, his sister Peg, and granddaughter Angela. He is survived by Joan, his loving wife of 66 years and his children Peter(Amy), Kurt (Patty), and Linda (Dave), and by their six grandchildren, Kate (Andrew), Annie, Alena, Vio, Nick, and Cassy. Jack was born on May 17, 1928 in Tremont, Illinois, the heart of farm country. His family survived the Great Depression, despite losing their farm and having to start over. He graduated from Minier High School in 1946, Lincoln Junior College in 1948 and finally the University of Iowa in 1950. He then enlisted in the Air Force, where eventually he landed in Wiesbaden, Germany. This turned out to be a fortunate event, as he met Joan, another Air Force member. While in Germany, they were married according to law by the Buergermeister in 1953 and then again in a Christian ceremony. After the Air Force, they eventually made their way to Cedarburg and that is where they've been ever since. Jack spent 38 years at Tecumseh Products in Grafton, most of that time as Traffic Manager. He was involved and chaired several traffic management associations during his tenure. After retirement, Jack spent his time doing what he liked best, being with his family, traveling with Joan, and working on a hobby that became a passion, woodturning. He would take a piece of raw wood, size it up for potential and then create beautiful bowls, vases, eggs, pens or whatever the piece of wood led him too. Jack and Joan were members of the American Legion in Cedarburg. They took an Honor Flight for veterans to Washington D.C. in 2015. Jack and Joan have been faithful members of Community United Methodist Church in Cedarburg for over 60 years, attending virtually every Sunday during that time. Dad's service was held Saturday, December 7th in the church he loved, surrounded by his family and friends. Memorials are encouraged to the Cedarburg Public Library (W63 N589 Hanover Ave. Cedarburg, WI 53012) The Eernisse Funeral Home of Cedarburg is honored to assist the family. On-line condolence may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com
