Jack S. Laack
Mr. Jack Laack, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away Monday evening, February 29, 2016 at his home in Saukville. He was 88 years old. Jack was born April 26, 1927 in Milwaukee, the son of Harold and Ruth (nee Kienzle) Laack. He graduated from Rufus King High School, and studied at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On July 3, 1948, he was united in marriage with Sylvia Paegelow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. After working as a police officer in Milwaukee, Jack found a long term career as an insurance underwriter in the Milwaukee area. Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed going up north, fishing, yardwork, bowling, collecting coins and playing sheepshead with his friends in card club. Above all, he loved being a dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Jack is survived by his wife Sylvia and their two daughters: Jacki VanKammen of Saukville and Jeri (Gary) Matter of Chilton. He is further survived by grandchildren: Ben (Katie) VanKammen, Lesley (Matt) Wunrow, Ali (TJ) Samson and Krysta (Brandon) Poehlein, great-grandchildren: Kali, Leigha, Hunter, Addie and Chase, sisters-in-law Peggy Wagner of Cedarburg and Lois (Don) Porter of Ada, MI, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, N60 W6047 Columbia Road in Cedarburg. Pastor Brent Halverson will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 12 noon – 2 PM. Jack will be laid to rest at Zur Ruhe Cemetery in Cedarburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
