Jack "Skip" Flack of Port Washington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the age of 59 years.
Skip was born February 3rd, 1962, in Indianapolis, IN, son of Jack C. Flack, Sr., and Shirli Brinker Flack. The family moved to Port Washington, WI shortly after he was born and that is where Skip grew up. He attended Lincoln Elementary and Thomas Jefferson Middle School and attended Cedar Grove High School when the family moved to their home on Lake Michigan in the Town of Belgium.
He married the love of his life, Sylvia Hoerig Demge on August 23, 2003 in Elko, Nevada.
Skip spent his career working at the family company, Allied Insulation Supply, starting as a youngster working alongside his parents and eventually becoming plant manager of the company's headquarters in Milwaukee.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sailing, hunting, and riding his UTV with Sylvia and friends in the Northwoods. Skip and Sylvia enjoyed their lake home on Lake Winnebago in Brothertown and had plans to build a new one this spring. He sailed many years on Lake Michigan with his parents and their first sailboat was named SKIPJACK. They participated in many races over the years on SKIPJACK, SKIPJACK 2, and VIVERE including the Queen's Cup and Clipper Cup races across Lake Michigan. He was a dedicated deer hunter and spent many years hunting at the family camp in Argonne and more recently at John Leiviska's cabin in Wabeno. Deer hunting was always a special time with family and friends. Skip was an accomplished bowler. He belonged to 3 bowling leagues and competed in the county, state, and national bowling tournaments. One of his proudest accomplishments was his first "300" game.
Not only was Skip a devoted husband, son, and father he was a friend extraordinaire who did anything and everything that he could imagine others needed. He was a ton of fun and his life was filled with joy. He was so proud of his son Jack and was especially proud of Jack's military service. He was so looking forward to Jack's graduation from Marquette Law School in May and continuing his military service as an attorney in the Army JAG Corps. Jack and his wife Rachel welcomed their son Carson 6 weeks premature in mid-December and Skip was thrilled to meet him on January 2nd.
Skip is survived by his wife Sylvia, his son Jack (Rachel)Flack, III, stepson David (Sara) Demge, stepdaughter Laura Demge, Grandchildren Carson Joe Flack, Ryan Demge, and Isabel Demge. He is further survived by his mother Shirli Flack, sisters Vici (John) Dohrwardt, Rose (Jeff) Morgan, Anita (Bob) Woods, Laura (Kurt) Goranson, Holly (Matt) Stubbs, brothers Mark (Laura) Flack, Andy (Mary) Flack, and brother-in-law Richard (Hae Suk) Hoerig. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, Tim and Ben Lewis, and MANY, MANY friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack C. Flack, Sr., his mother-in-law, Marianne Hoerig, and his father-in-law, Helmut Hoerig.
Funeral services will be held at Friedens Church, 454 N. Milwaukee Street, Port Washington on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on the 22nd at Friedens Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m.
