IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack
Fellenz
July 16, 1938 – October 19, 2023
Jack Fellenz of Saukville passed away early Thursday morning, October 19, 2023. He was surrounded by his beloved family at Ascension St. Mary's Ozaukee hospital in Mequon. He was 85 years old.
Jack was born in Milwaukee on July 16, 1938. He was the son of Bernice Decker and Floyd Goehring. His mother later married Gerald Fellenz, who raised Jack as his own son. Jack grew up in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School before proudly serving in the US Marine Corps.
He attended MATC and began his career in sales at PCM in Port Washington. He later worked at Carlson Tool & Manufacturing in Cedarburg as the plant manager, from which he retired in 2008.
On February 17, 1968, Jack was united in marriage with Louise Solms at St. Rose Catholic Church in Fredonia. Jack built their family home in the Town of Saukville in 1972, with help from his dad and brother. He loved living in the country, and often commented on how they picked the perfect spot to build their home. In recent years, he enjoyed an evening ritual of feeding the deer who frequented their yard.
Jack was a dedicated member of St. John XXII Parish, an active member of the Fredonia Lions, the US Marine Corps League, and a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church where he had served on the Parish Council. He also selflessly volunteered at the Port Washington Food Pantry for many years. You could often find him frying brats at the local Piggly Wiggly for Knights of Columbus or handing out poppies at Wal-Mart in Saukville in support of his fellow veterans.
Jack had a skill for storytelling and loved talking to people. He enjoyed golfing, working with his hands (especially masonry), being outdoors, looking for deer, and had a passion for wood carving. Jack and Louise enjoyed nothing more than ending each week with a good fish fry and a tasty Manhattan, while spending time with their treasured friends.
Jack is survived by Louise, his beloved wife of 55 years, their children Chris (Matthew) Meyer of Hartland and Craig (Rhonda) Fellenz of Plymouth, five grandchildren: William & Jackson Meyer, Allison, Samantha & Landon Fellenz, brother Richard (Jane) Fellenz and sister Sharon (Gary) Anzia, both of the Town of Port Washington. He is further survived by his newly reunited half-sister Bonnie Egerer of Fredonia, other family members and many friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Bernice & Gerald Fellenz, father Floyd Goehring, parents- in-law Frances & Aloys Solms, sister-in-law Carole Solms, and two biological brothers, John & Robert Goehring.
