Mrs. Irene Stoll of the Town of Port Washington passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at her home. She was 88 years old. Irene was born May 31, 1933 to Franc and Elizabetha (nee Letch) Toth in Karlsdorf, Yugoslavia. The family emigrated from Austria to the United States in 1952, settling in Milwaukee. While in Milwaukee, Irene met Nikolaus Stoll, a young man whom she had known in her home country. The couple were united in marriage on June 26, 1954 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They settled in Milwaukee and raised their family of three sons. In 1986 they moved to Port Washington to become the proprietors of the Driftwood Motel, located on the west side of the city. They closed the motel in 2017 and officially retired. Irene enjoyed knitting sewing and cooking. She was known for her cooking and always made sure those around her were fed and included. Folks who stayed at the motel over a holiday were always invited to join the family's meal. Irene is survived by her loving husband Nikolaus, their sons Nikolaus F. (Janet) Stoll of Kewaskum, Karl (Carol) Stoll, and Michael (Susan) Stoll, both of Port Washington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Jim) Jelinek, Robert (Christina) Stoll, Sarah (Kevin) Sladky, Sonia Stoll, Stephanie Stoll, Susan Stoll and Jason Demmer, seven great-grandchildren; Oliva, Elliot, Owen, Bennett, Aleah, Emily, James, and one soon-to-be-expected. Irene is further survived by cousins Albert Weifert, Otto Pallek and Hilda Bauman, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Franc and Elizabetha, and brother Franc. Mrs. Stoll will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Milwaukee. Private family services will be held.
