Irene Samuels, of Random Lake, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away in the morning hours of Monday, April 13, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 80 years old.
Irene was born in Milwaukee on September 30, 1939, daughter of Arthur Tonn and Elizabeth Mayer Tonn. She grew up in Cedarburg and graduated from Cedarburg High School with the Class of 1958.
On August 12, 1961, she married Carlton Samuels at Mequon United Methodist Church. The couple settled in Cedarburg to raise their family. Irene was a life-long and active member of the Girl Scouts of America. She and her husband Carlton were also members of the Motorcyclist Touring Club.
Irene is survived by her four children: Jennifer (Dean) Glorioso of Fairbanks, AK, Deborah (Darryl) Dressel of Grafton, Irma Slaughter of Random Lake, and Russell Samuels also of Random Lake. She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Darryl (Erin) Dressel Jr., Carlo (Megan) Glorioso, Dallas (Raymond) Dressel, Remington Glorioso, Colton Glorioso, Mark Slaughter, and Gabriel Slaughter, four great-grandchildren: Jonah, R.J., Caroline, and Oliver, siblings James (the late Pam) Tonn of Cedarburg, Kathy Tonn of Menomonee Falls, and Alice (Peter) Werni of Cedarburg, sister-in-law Susan (the late John) Pastorek of IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carlton.
A service to celebrate Irene's life will take place at a future date.
