Obituary

Irene L. Otto Mrs. Irene Otto of Chateau Court in Grafton formerly of Thiensville passed away Wednesday morning September 23 2009 at Highlands of New Castle in Mequon. She was 86 years old. Irene was born June 2 1923 in Milwaukee the daughter of Ernst and Ella Reinhardt Lehmann. She graduated in 1941 from Washington High School in Milwaukee. On June 28 1947 she was united in marriage with Arthur M. Otto at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1987. During the 1970rsquo;s and 1980rsquo;s Irene operated Wit lsquo;n Wisdom a bookstore in Grafton and Glendale.nbsp; Mrs. Otto was a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thiensville. She loved wildlife and animals and was an advocate for animal protection. Irene enjoyed volunteering through various organizations including the gift shop at Columbia St. Maryrsquo;s ndash; Ozaukee Campus and the Lutheran Home for the Aging in Wauwatosa. Mrs. Otto is survived by her sister Eleanor (Frank) Ruppert of Mequon special nephew Dr. Phillip (the late Joan) Ruppert of Cedarburg and his son Paul her godson Curt Lenz of Hartland special friend Carol (Peter) Hennig of Elkhorn and her children Ryan Kimberly and Sarah (Andy) Kull and her daughter Mia nieces nephews great nieces and nephews other relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Arthur. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Monday September 28 2009 in the Chapel of the Flowers at Wisconsin Memorial Park 13235 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield. Pastor Don Scheuerlein will officiate. Entombment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 3-4PM on Monday in the Chapel of the Flowers. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the Ozaukee Humane Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
