Hortense "Sam" V. Berry of Fredonia was called home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 9, 1945 to Eugene and Virda Dupre. She married Michael "Sparky" Berry on March 20, 1967 and together they had four children. Sam was an avid crocheter and knitter. She donated countless volunteer hours creating hats, prayer shawls, mittens and mats for local hospitals, homeless shelters and the military. She was devoted to her Christian faith and belonged to St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia. Sam is survived by her husband Michael, her children Michele (Lance) Graller, Danielle (Kevin) Berry, Wendy (David) Grams, Michael P. (Michelle) Berry; grandchildren Brian Fisher, James Blecha, Dawson (Alexis) Mundt, Tristen Mundt, Ashley Baneck, Joshua (Cassie) Treppish, Jessica (Jonathon) Petrie, Bailey Treppish, Jarod Treppish, Josiah Berry, Naomi Berry, Colby Grams and Nicholas Grams; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Wade Dupre, Cedric (Cathy) Dupre, Clyde Dupre, and Donald Dupre. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jade Godeaux, brothers, Grantland Dupre, Eugene Dupre, Ronald Dupre; granddaughter Rachel Blecha and grandson Kyle Blecha. A Funeral Service for Sam will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church (824 Fredonia Ave. Fredonia, WI 52021). The family will receive visitors at the church from 9:00AM until the time of service. Sam will be laid to rest at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
