Witte (nee Knoch), Hilda M.

Hilda Witte, of Cedarburg, went into God’s hands on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the age of 103.

Born May 10, 1922, in Whitewater, Wisconsin, the younger of 2 children born to John and Rose (nee Brandmueller) Knoch. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 68 years Walter, daughter Beth Witte Cleary, and great-granddaughter Haven Witte.

Loving mother of Kirk (Kathy), Craig (Mary), and Todd (Cindy). Grandmother to Tiffany, Grant, John, Matt, Luke, Jake, Caitlin, Mick. Further survived by 6 great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Hilda graduated Milwaukee Teachers College, was an Army wife for 6 years during WW II, employed by Milwaukee Public Schools, and a stay at home mom to her four children.

Hilda was first and foremost a Christian, a loyal wife, mother, and friend, and was always in a good mood. When facing adversity, “this too shall pass” was her mantra. She was also a golfer, a lifelong learner, voracious reader, and the epitome of “The Greatest Generation”.

Funeral services celebrating Hilda’s life will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 623 Congress Dr., Newburg, with visitation from 9:30 AM to 11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.
