Mr. Herbert "Herbie" James, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg, where he resided for the last several years. He was 88 years old.
Herbert was born in Two Rivers, WI on April 16, 1928. He was raised in a Polish Catholic orphanage in Milwaukee, WI where he was taught several languages.
Herbie owned several successful businesses. He owned the Sir James Pub & Restaurant in Grafton from 1977-83 and was co-owner of the Brew Meister Trading Post in Port Washington with Suzie Rabus. Herbie is probably most known for the Sir James Pub in Port Washington and its massive import beer selection. Jason Rabus has continued Herbie's legacy by taking over the Sir James Pub in honor of his "grandpa"
To his close friends, he will be remembered for giving generously and often anonymously to any charity that helped children in need.
Herbert is survived by his eight children and his very special friends, the Rabus and Salli families who were considered his extended family.
Please join his friends at Sir James Pub (316 N Franklin, Port Washington, WI) on December 2, 2016 to raise funds for children this Christmas. Cash and toy donations will be accepted in Herbies name.
