Herbert Brendemuehl
June 7, 1933 - February 5, 2021
Went to his eternal home on Friday February 5, 2021. He was a devoted husband to Jean for 54 years, beloved father to Steve, Mark (Tracie), and Mike (Kate), an adored grandfather to Cassie (Alex), Sarah (Ryan), and Nikki, and cherished great-grandfather.
Herb grew up in Milwaukee and attended Granville School. In his early twenties, he bravely served his country fighting in Korea. When he met his wife Jean, she brought the Lord into his life, and during their marriage, they became members at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt. Herb remained a faithful member of Trinity's congregation for over 50 years, where he enjoyed attending services with his family. As an avid outdoorsman, Herb shared his love of the outdoors with his three boys and frequently went on hunting and fishing trips together. For 49 years, he worked at Bliffert Lumber in Milwaukee, making many friends and memories over the years. After retiring, he filled his time with bird watching, watching shows with his wife, and spending time with his three granddaughters playing cards, fishing and ice fishing, and deciding which new flavor of Oreo was the best. In recent years, he loved seeing his great-granddaughters and learning about two great-grandchildren who are on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife who was the love of his life, his brother, his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as cherished friends. Herb's family will have a private graveside service and burial, with a celebration of life later this year. Memorials may be made in Herb's name to Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Freistadt, 10729 W. Freistadt Rd Mequon.
