Honoring Herbert A. Barber Our Father . . .Our Hero nbsp; Herbert A. Barber (Hub) passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday June 25 2009 surrounded by nbsp;the love and support of his family.nbsp; Hub was born August 28 1920 in Port Washington WI the son of Lucile Minett Barber and Amasa George Barber.nbsp; He was one of five brothers and was preceded in death by Bernard Reginald Wendell and John Barber. nbsp; The knowledge that our father is finally reunited with his loving wife Lorraine and two infant sons Scott and Joseph brings our family much joy and comfort.nbsp; His children Bruce Barber (Linda) Judith Gray Steven Barber (Diana) Clifford Barber (Susan) Christine Terry (Vince) and Jeffrey Barber (DeAnna) feel fortunate to have had him as our father our mentor andnbsp; our best friend.nbsp; We know that he has taught us ldquo;lifersquo;s lessonsrdquo; so that we may be his living legacies as we live our lives and raise our families.nbsp; For this we are eternally grateful.nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; He leaves this world behind loved and remembered by his 13 grandchildren: Tiffany Walker Natalie Gray Alan Barber Brian Barber Jason Barber Kevin Barber Aimee Barber Sarah Jerdee Kellie Barber Sean Terry Shannon Terry Rebecca Redo and Haley Barber. nbsp;His 11 great-grandchildren: Nolan Jerdee Alexis and Michael Walker Autumn and Kevin Terry Colin and Gracie Redo Mya Lynn Tevich-Gray Reese Emily and Addie Moomaw provided him with endless hours of pleasure. As well as the three great-grand-babies on the way they will miss his funny stories child-like playfulness and loving spirit.nbsp; nbsp; Hub experienced life to the fullest and ldquo;left no stone unturnedrdquo;!nbsp; During his lifetime he was a Life Guard Mason Carpenter Boiler Operator at Wisconsin Electric Company.nbsp; He served in WWII under Patton receiving numerous metals including a Purple Heart.nbsp; Hub was to be honored on Saturday June 27th by the Honor Flight Programnbsp; which involved a flight to Washington D.C. to be recognized in the ceremony for WWII Veterans. Our family will personally honor him as part of our ldquo;farewell tributerdquo; during the services on June 29th at First Congregational Church Port Washington.nbsp; In lieu of flowers the family would greatly appreciate your donations to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight PO Box 636 Port Washington WInbsp; 53074. nbsp; nbsp; Cpl. Herbert A. Barber 191st Field Artillery Battalion US Army will be laid to rest on Monday June 29th 2009.nbsp; Visitation will be at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Avenue Port Washington from 12:30 ndash; 2:30 PM.nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at First Congregational Church 131 N. Webster St Port Washington from 3 ndash; 4 PM.nbsp; Cpl. Herbert A. Barber will be laid to rest next to his wife at Union Cemetery Port Washington with full military honors following the service. His family friends and the nation thank him for his love and service. nbsp;Memorials in Hubrsquo;s honor may be sent to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Wisconsin.nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;br /Service:br /pServices will be held on Monday June 29 2009 at 3:00 PM at First Congregational Church in Port Washington./pbr /Cemetery:br /pUnion Cemetery Port Washington/p
