Obituary

Henry Joseph Petesch returned peacefully to his eternal Father on January 17, 2018. He was born at home on July 13, 1928, attended high school at St. Francis Minor Seminary in Milwaukee, and returned to work with his parents on the family dairy farm after his graduation. He married the love of his life, Rosemary Kleckner, on September 8, 1951. After helping Melvin Foster Builders construct his own home, he joined their crew, working in remodeling and construction for the next 30 years, acquiring the nickname of "Hammerin' Hank". He also continued to assist his parents with the milking, planting and harvesting of crops on the family farm. After retiring from construction, Henry was hired as the maintenance custodian at Ozaukee High School for seven years. He used his carpentry expertise not only on the job, but graciously shared his skills for the many remolding projects requested by his daughters. Henry's endearing patience and gentle character made him a reliable, dependable friend who could talk with anyone. He served as an admirable role model with his industrious work ethic and was a devoted son and husband and a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family times were his most cherished moments. As one of his closest friends, Sally, aptly and simply stated, "He is a kind man." Henry served a Chief Ranger of the Fredonia Catholic Order of Foresters for numerous years, actively involved in organizing parish fish fries and working at the Ozaukee County Fair in the Foresters' food stand. He continued his leadership, albeit long-distance, after moving to Randolph Health Services in 2014. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's football, track, basketball, volleyball and music and drama events and took great pride in their accomplishments, often traveling several hours to support their activities. Several other great interests included dining out and playing Sheepshead, Bingo and games of chance. He was a Packer and Brewer aficionado, following the teams in the comfort of his easy chair. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary, and his parents, Henry Sr. and Elizabeth Petesch. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Casey, Connie (Dan) Holzmiller, and MaryBeth Petesch (John Lemberger VI) and his sister Karen Semph. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Billie-Jo (Chad) Brusveen, Jonathan (Fran) Casey, Katie (Sal) Trujillo, Kara Holzmiller, Anna Lemberger and John T. Lemberger, and eleven great-grandchildren, Ashton and Briella Brusveen, Max, Gabe, Lily, Xavi, Isaac Henry, Caleb and Dominic Casey, and Solomon and Adalyn Trujillo. Henry's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cedarburg and Beaver Dam Dialysis Centers and the Randolph Golden Living Health Services for their patient and compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Divine Savior Parish – St. Rose Catholic Church (305 Fredonia Avenue Fredonia, 53021) at 11:00 AM. Father Todd Budde will preside. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Henry will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Rose Cemetery Fredonia following Mass.
