HENRY A. KRAUS JR. ldquo;Santardquo; Mr. Henry Kraus Jr. of Harbor Village in Port Washington formerly of Saukville passed away Sunday afternoon November 30 2008 at Columbia St. Maryrsquo;s Hospital in Mequon. He was 91 years old. Henry was born May 26 1917 in Fredonia the son of Henry and Margaret Schmidt Kraus. During WWII he proudly served his country in the United States Army. On February 22 1938 he was united in marriage with Desma VandeBoom at Immaculate Conception in Saukville. Mr. Kraus worked as a carpenter and also ran a hobby farm where he raised ponies and grew pumpkins and sweet corn. Henry was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception where he was a member of the church choir. He was President and Board Member of the Tri-County Pork Producers a former Ozaukee County Supervisor served as Chairman of the Town of Saukville and was a member of the Turkey Club.nbsp; In his spare time he enjoyed bowling going to casinos and playing the card game Skatt. He will always be remembered for the joy he spread when he was ldquo;Santa Clausrdquo; at the Boston Store and throughout Ozaukee County. Henry is survived by his wife of 70 years Desma and their three children: Ken (Margo) Kraus of Saukville Bonnie (the late Al) Knaub and Nancy (Donald) Theisen both of Port Washington. He is further survived by fourteen grandchildren: Cindi Dean Ellene Foster Gary Tammy Tori Tricia Brett Kurt Scott Mark Michele and Luke; Ninteen great-grandchildren one sister Loretta (the late Elmer) Mertzig of Port Washington two sisters-in-law: Marie Kraus of West Bend and Lauretta Kraus of MN other relatives and many friends.
