Obituary

Mr. Henry Matic of Adell formerly of Milwaukee passed away early Thursday morning July 3 2014 at Rocky Knoll Care Facilityfollowing a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer. He was 67 years old. Henry was born in Windischgarsten Austria on January 22 1947 son of Milrod and Ida Steiner Matic. The family immigrated to the United States when Henry was a young child and settled in Duluth MN. They later moved to Milwaukee. Henry graduated from Milwaukee Boys Technical School then started work with the Wisconsin Electric Company. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War and returned to work with Wisconsin Electric as a power plant designer. On December 27 1975 Henry was united in marriage with Patricia Utecht Mitsch in Oak Creek. They soon moved to Adell and raised their family. Hank retired from WE-Energies in 2009 having worked at the Milwaukee Port Washington Oak Creek Germantown and Valley power plants over his 40 year tenure. Mr. Matic was a member for the American Legion- National Post and enjoyed playing cards and tending his extensive gardens. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most recently he enjoyed spending time with his fellow retirees at monthly breakfast gatherings. Henry is survived by his loving wife Patt and their four children: Debra (Carl) Raticke of Waterford Todd (Rita) Mitsch of Lake Geneva Tim Mitsch of Tuscon AZ and Heidi (Bill) Sitzberger of Waldo and 5 grandchildren: Heidi Melissa Christopher Branden and Megan. He is also survived by his eight favorite people in the world; his great-grandchildren: Mason Skylar Amaya Carnell Everett Ryan Rainah and Leif. Further survivors include his 3 brothers: Karl Matic Ludwig Buck (Allie) Matic and Mike (Anna) Matic all of Milwaukee brother and sister-in-law Pete Sue Utecht of Holy Hill nieces nephews many remaining relatives in Austria other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson Timothy Mitsch. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Sunday July 13 at Trinity United Methodist Church 425 Lyndon St. Waldo. Rev. Linda Westphal-Buth will preside. Military Honors will follow. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Sunday from 2-4PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
