Obituary

Helen Mary Stangl was born to eternal life on Monday October 30th, 2023 at the age of 81 with family and her beloved caregiver at her side.

Helen was born in Milwaukee, WI to the late Rudolph and Marie (Koppes) Stamm. She grew up in Milwaukee along with her late brother, Peter. Helen attended Holy Angels High School and went on to receive her degree in Education from Marquette University. She taught elementary school in Whitefish Bay.

In August of 1968 Helen met her husband, David and they married that same year. After a short time in Shorewood, they moved north to their longtime home in Cedarburg where she served as mom to many more than her own children.

Her noble purpose was to love and care for her family, and she was selfless in every way. She cherished being a mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and her meals were the centerpiece of conversation and laughter among family and friends. She never wanted to miss a moment with those she loved and eagerly complied with every adventure offered. Her warmth, humor, and spontaneous spirit will remain unmatched and forever missed.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband David and son Michael. She leaves behind her six children: Theresa (James) Schleck, Elizabeth (Tyler) Sisk, Marianne (Jeffery) Laubach, Jennifer (Matthew) Emmerich, Monica (Ryan) Osterholm, David (Chelsea) Stangl, 14 grandchildren: Leo Schleck; Simon, Frances, and Margaret Sisk; Hannah, Nicole, and Erik Laubach; James, Martha, and Louie Emmerich; Ethan and Greta Osterholm; Calvin and Curtis Stangl; her sisters-in-law Susan Newell and Karen Stangl, and many nieces and nephews.
