Helen M. Peace passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. She was 89 years old.
She was born on May 24, 1936, in Troutville, Pennsylvania to parents Lee and Hazel (nee Reiter) Muth. She attended high school in Sykesville, Pennsylvania.
Helen was united in marriage with Maurice Peace on June 1, 1957, in Troutville, Pennsylvania. Together they raised 3 children.
Over the years, Helen and Maury lived in several different states. When they returned to Grafton, they owned and operated Countryside Floral where she helped with the floral designing. They enjoyed multiple trips to other countries with their good friends Ted and Kathleen Salkowski and her sister Rebecca.
In her spare time, Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, crocheting, knitting and cross stitch. She also volunteered at her church and attended many women's group gatherings. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family; especially her 4 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her children Deborah (Richard) Dries, David (Jane) Peace, and Karen (Keith) Verhaalen, grandchildren Chris (Herly) Dries, Sarah (Karl) Halterman, Jason (Jade) Verhaalen, and Michelle (Corey) Morbeck. She is further survived by six great-grandchildren, brother Ralph (Ruth) Srock, sister-in-law Gisela Peace, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maury Peace, step-father Ralph Srock Sr, sister Rebecca Kapetanis, brother-in laws Mike Kapetanis and Ralph Peace, sister-in-law Caroline Peace, niece Rhonda Peace and great-granddaughter Riley Erin Verhaalen.
A Service for Helen will be at 11AM on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home - Cedarburg (1167 Washington Ave. Wisconsin 53024). Pastor Banze Wakiluba will be presiding. The family will greet guests from 10AM until the service at 11AM. Helen will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ozaukee Humane Society or Community United Methodist Church are appreciated.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Lasata Crossings and Care Center, Ascension St Mary's Ozaukee Hospital and Lawlis Family Hospice.
Everyone who touched her life made a difference. A special thank you to Tammy Blakely who was not only one of her caretakers but became a very special, dear friend to her and our entire family.
