Mrs. Helen Bruggink passed away Saturday October 22 2011 at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay where she had resided the last month. She was 75 years old. Helen was born August 27 1936 in Oostburg the daughter of Jessie Schreurs and Edna Kranendonk. On September 2 1955 she was united in marriage with Philip Du Mez who preceded her in death in July of 1980. On August 26 1988 she was united in marriage with LaMont Bruggink. He preceded her in death in March of 2011. Helen worked for many years as a CNA at Morningside Nursing Home in Sheboygan. Helen was a generous caregiver both on the job and off and took pride in caring for her loved ones. Mrs. Bruggink was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove where she was a member of the choir and served as a Sunday school teacher. She also volunteered at the YMCA and enjoyed gardening. Helen is survived by her children: Kay (Terry) Hoitink of De Pere and Terry (Debby) Du Mez of Cedar Grove and step-children: Joel (Rene) Bruggink of Oostburg Kaye (Mike) Heinen of Waldo and Todd (Nancy) Bruggink of Plymouth . She is further survived by 13 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren brother Allen Schreurs of Fond du Lac sister Carol (Herbert) Hengst of Oostburg other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husbands Philip Dumez and LaMont Bruggink brother Harvey Schreurs and sister Arlene Van Driest. Funeral services will be held at 6PM on Thursday October 27 at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church 136 W. Union Ave. in Cedar Grove. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4-6PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Middle East Reformed Fellowship (MERF - USA PO Box 1904 Holland Michigan 49422).
