Mr. Harvey Medinger of Cedar Grove passed away Saturday November 15 2014 at Cedar Springs in Cedarburg after a 48 day stay at St. Luke's in Milwaukee. He was 83 years old. Harvey was born February 24 1931 in Ulao (town of Grafton) the son of Jac and Theresa (Deppiesse) Medinger. After graduating from Random Lake High School he proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served in Korea as a radio technician. On May 5 1956 he was united in marriage with Margaret Bootsie Metz at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. Harvey worked for Harley Davidson as a technical writer for 21 years and as a consultant for 10 years. Harvey worked for some of the finest companies in the USA including AC Sparkplug in Milwaukee and Augsburg Germany Goodyear in Litchfield Park AZ Remington Rand in Minneapolis MN and North American Aviation in Los Angeles CA. His career allowed him to live in many cities and travel to many countries. Harvey was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Random Lake. He enjoyed reunions with other Korean War Veterans philosophy reading collecting guns and spending time with his family and friends. Harvey is survived by his wife Margaret and their children: Fred (Kellie) of Random Lake Harvey Jr (Janet) of Browntown Joe (Jean) of Sheboygan Phil of Manitowoc Tony (Shelley) of Adell and Mari (Keith) Falk of Plymouth and foster daughter Johnnie Mae (Edward) Thurmond of Lexington MS. He is further survived by 30 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren brother-in-law Walter (Gwen) Metz of Cedarburg sister-in-law Barbara Winter of West Bend nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Harvey is preceded in death by 2 sons: Gerald and Louis infant daughter Mary Barbara brother Elmer Medinger and sisters Elsie (Norb) Koch and LaVerne (Bob) Shupe. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday November 22 at 5 Pillars Supper Club W2990 Hwy K in Random Lake. Harvey will be laid to rest at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Adell. The family will receive visitors at 5 Pillars on Saturday from 12:30-2:30 with fellowship following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Random Lake Interfaith Food Pantry or a charity of donor's choice.
