Harvey Hanson, of Port Washington, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away in the evening hours of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 79 years old.
Harvey was born on October 30, 1945, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Helmer and Katherine (Jones) Hanson. Harvey's journey through life touched many, spreading warmth and kindness along the way. He spent his formative years in both Minnesota, Wisconsin and Colorado.
Harvey graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire at just 18 years old, earning a double major in mathematics and chemistry—a testament to his intelligence and intellect. Following his passion for serving others, Harvey honorably fulfilled his duty in the United States Army, where he served his country with pride and dedication.
For over 40 years, Harvey worked as a district sales representative for the 3M Corporation, leaving a legacy of integrity and professionalism before retiring in 2020.
In 1981, Harvey married Linda Lee Herdt.
A former member of the Jaycees, Harvey was a simple, humble man, often found indulging in his cherished hobbies: collecting coins, nurturing his garden, and caring for his beloved pet birds. His gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all those who knew him.
Harvey is survived by his two sons Brian and Craig Harris, five grandchildren, his sister Mary Hoggin, his brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, and many siblings.
In accordance with Harvey's wishes, private family services will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, CO.
