Helping Jim to look and be his best she blessed her family with a legacy of love faith and kindness as well as moose stew and garbage can dessert. Those who knew her will remember her optimism strength patience and perseverance. A woman with a great sense of style she could quickly be spotted anywhere as the lady with the hat. As her family matured she volunteered as an activities aide at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg. In 1985 Harriett and Jim moved to Eagle River Wisconsin and spent their winters in Apache Junction Arizona. Their 10 years of retirement were some of the best finally having more time to spend with each other. They opened both homes to friends and family alike. After Jim's death in 1995 she moved to Grafton Wisconsin to be closer to her family. She joined Grace Lutheran Church and loved making quilts for missions. Her family who will deeply miss her include Terrance (son) and Jill Sullivan Bridget (daughter) and Bert Meissner Katrena Jacobs (daughter) Colleen Sullivan (daughter) and Maureen (daughter) and Jim Behnke.
