Harold Laux of Random Lake passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 4 2013 after suffering a stroke on Tuesday October 1st. He was 87 years old. Harold was born in Sheboygan on January 17 1926 son of Leonard Laux and Florence Schemmel Laux. He grew up on the Laux Homestead Farm in Batavia. He graduated from Random Lake High School with the class of 1943. On May 14 1949 he married Olive Cudnohoske in Beechwood. The couple continued to farm on the family farm until he retired in the late 1980's. Harold was an active member of the Batavia Fire Department for many years. He was also a past board member American Milk Producers Inc. Sheboygan County Farm Bureau and the Random Lake School Board. He was a faithful and active member of the Assemblies of God Church including McAllen First Assembly of God in McAllen TX where he wintered for the past 28 years. It was in Texas where Harold found his love for golf. He also had a passion for the Milwaukee Brewers Wisconsin Badgers Milwaukee Bucks and the Green Bay Packers. Harold was an avid card player right up until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Olive of Random Lake his four children; Harolyn (the late Ken) Soper of Plymouth Larry (Barb) Laux of Batavia Ann (Greg) Zukowski of Cottage Grove and Lori (Gary) Dahm of Belgium. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren; Jennifer Skibba Brad (Sara) Laux Ryan (Lyndsie) Laux Jessica and Kristina Laux Max (Jill) Zukowski Kinga (Luke) Pechacek Hawkin (Meghan) Zukowski Melanie (Ian) Marquardt Megan (Obie) Weiss and Scott Dahm 14 great-grandchildren one sister Mildred Behnke of Brillion nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Ralph and Vernon Laux. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 7th at 6 Pm at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave in Belgium. Pastor Richard York of Christian Life Assembly of God in Plymouth will officiate. Harold will be laid to rest in Zion Cemetery Batavia. Visitation will take place on Monday October 7 at the Funeral Home from 4-6 PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home Belgium is honored to serve the family.
