Obituary

HARM H. MODDER nbsp; Harm Modder of Port Washington WI formerly of Cottage Grove MN passed away at his residence on December 28 2010 after a long battle with melanoma.nbsp; He was 60 years old.nbsp; Harm was born on January 8 1950 in Sibley Iowa son of Roy ldquo;Hinnierdquo; and Evelyn (Hinsch) Modder.nbsp;nbsp; He was united in marriage with Deborah Gonzalez on November 27 1976 in St. Paul MN.nbsp; Harm joined the St. Paul Police Department in 1978.nbsp; He retired in 2000 having been both an officer and a sergeant.nbsp; In addition he was a field training officer and an in-service training instructor.nbsp; While on the department Harm received 4 commendations.nbsp; He was involved in various police community activities including police choir union representative Taste of Minnesota and police haunted house.nbsp; He competed in the World Police and Fire Olympics winning gold silver and bronze medals in racquetball.nbsp; He coached American Legion baseball and soccer for his sons.nbsp; Harm and Deb moved to Port Washington in 2004.nbsp; After retirement Harm attended massage school and volunteered his time at the school following his graduation. nbsp;Harm is survived by his wife Deb of Port Washington their three sons: Adam (Fianceacute;e Erica Suydam ) of Las Vegas Jeffrey (Jenny Trempe) of Hastings MN and Ryan of Port Washington as well as three grandchildren: Devin Chloe and Kali all of Hastings MN.nbsp; He is further survived by his sister Mary (the late Ward) Scherer of Cincinnati OH brothers Mike (Barb) Modder of George IA and Gary (Janet) Goodwill of Yakima WA mother-in-law Ann Sauro of St. Paul MN other relatives and friends. nbsp;He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ray (the late Irene) Goodwill.nbsp; A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 8th at the Cathedral of St. Paul 239 Selby Ave. St. Paul MN.nbsp; Father John Meyer will officiate.nbsp; He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Paul.nbsp; The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday January 8th from 9:30-10:30 AM.nbsp; Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers.nbsp; The Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.nbsp; Online condolences can be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com . nbsp; nbsp;br /Service:br /pspan style=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 12pt;A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 8th at the Cathedral of St. Paul 239 Selby Ave. St. Paul MN.span style=mso-spacerun: yes;nbsp; /spanFather John Meyer will officiate.span style=mso-spacerun: yes;nbsp;/span/span/pbr /Cemetery:br /pspan style=font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 12pt;span style=mso-spacerun: yes;nbsp;/spanHe will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Paul.span style=mso-spacerun: yes;nbsp; /span/span/p
