Gordon "Spike" W. Bley of Belgium passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019. He was 90 years old. Spike was born to Frank and Theresa "Tessie" (nee Rese) Bley on October 1, 1928 in Belgium Wisconsin. He was united in marriage with Mary Anne Parker at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls on May 12, 1956 and together they had five children. Mr. Bley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Lake Church and retired from Simplicity after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 412 and a volunteer fireman in Belgium. Spike enjoyed the restoration of old tractors, hunting, wood working, gardening and cooking. He spent a lot of time tending to his land. Above all Spike cherished time spent with his family and friends.
Spike is survived by his children, Timothy (Karen) Bley, David Bley, Roxanne (Bruce) Ten Haken and Shelia (Daniel) Schanen; grandchildren, Damon (Krystal Heimerl) Friend, Brandon Bley, Amanda (Matthew) Jungers, Andrew Ten Haken and Jason Bley; great-grandson, Logan Jungers; siblings, Frank Bley and Richard (Joanne) Bley; sisters-in law, Pat Bley, Sharlene Bley, Gerri Schmit and Marie Parker; brother-in-law, John Surma. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Anne (2010), infant son Stephen Bley, granddaughter Krystal Bley; siblings, Dan Bley, Ruth Parker and Loren Bley
A Memorial Service for Spike will be held at 11:30AM on Friday August 16, 2019 at Eernisse Funeral Home (171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium, WI 53004) with Father Gideon Buya presiding. Visitation will be at the FUNERAL HOME from 9:00AM until the time of service. Spike will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Lake Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the American Legion Post 412 in Belgium (665 Park St. Belgium, WI 53004)
