Obituary

Gordon Sharbuno, 91, of Port Washington, Wisconsin was called to his final resting place on Sunday, November 21, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born the son of Harold and Leona Sharbuno on August 23, 1930 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He married the love of his life, Sally (Ullerich) Sharbuno, on August 11, 1951 and together they just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Gordon's zest for living included snowmobiling, trap shooting, hunting, dancing, sheepshead club, storytelling, and going up North to their cottage in St. Germain, Wisconsin. He also enjoyed serving his community as a long-time member of the Port Washington Jaycees and the Rotary Club. Prior to serving as a Sergeant in the United States Army, Gordon attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he became a watchmaker. After his service to the nation, he then joined his father Harold Sharbuno at Sharbuno Jewelers. When Harold retired in 1970, Gordon took over the business until his retirement in 2010. Besides his love of clocks, watchmaking, and fine jewelry, music played a big role in Gordon's life starting with his high school band. While in the Army, he was assigned to the Army Marching Band where he performed throughout the country. He was also a member the Army Dance Band and performed at various officers and NCO clubs. Gordon served as Director of the Ozaukee County Barbershop Chorus for 25 years. He also enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Mary's Catholic Church and led the parish in song as a cantor. Gordon always had a story for everyone, and he loved to make people laugh up until the very end. Gordon will remain in the hearts of his children Jeanne Sharbuno of Atlanta, Georgia, Bob Charbonneau of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tom Sharbuno of Port Washington, Wisconsin; grandchildren Kristi, Kyle, Ryan, Lane and Cale; great-grandchildren Karlie, Brady, Abigail, Maverick, Avery, and Kaylynn; brother Wayne (Janet) Sharbuno of West Bend, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law Barb (the late Gary) Sharbuno of Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Gordon was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally, just five short weeks ago; and his brother Gary in 2013. The family will receive visitors at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington, Wisconsin, on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The family will also receive visitors at the church on Friday December 3, 2021, from 10:00 am until the funeral Mass begins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 3, 2021 at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Mary's Church site, in Port Washington, with Father Patrick Wendt.
