Mr. Gordon Dionne of Port Washington passed away surrounded by his loved ones on the evening of January 30, 2025. He was 82 years old.
Gordon was born in Menominee, Michigan on November 19, 1942, the son of Clarence and Mary (nee Venna) Dionne. He attended local schools and was a Golden Gloves boxer in school before leaving to proudly serve in the US Navy.
After the service, Gordon worked as a technician in the HVAC field for various employers in Illinois and Wisconsin before retiring in 2005.
On December 24, 1977, Gordon married the love of his life, Ardelle Berg, at Central United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Port Washington in 1995.
Gordon was a lifelong Packer fan. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed sprint car racing, playing pool, bowling, and flying model airplanes. Alongside his favorite pastimes, Gordon was a faithful member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, the Port Washington Senior Center, Van Ells- Schanen American Legion Post 82 and the AAFA (American Amphibious Force Association). A man of many talents, Gordon could fix just about anything with lots of love.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Ardelle, their children Daniel Kroening of Milwaukee, Carolyn (Steven) Werth of Kentucky, and Glen (Vera) Kroening of Florida, as well as his beloved grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Alexis, and Kyle. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Joan and Peggy Dionne, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 15 siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church (505 W. Grand Ave, Port Washington). Pastor Vince Pepin and Rev. David Guse will preside over the service. Military Honors will be rendered after the service. The family will greet visitors at church on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 11AM until services begin at 1PM. Gordon will be laid to rest at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Menominee, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church or Van Ells- Schanen American Legion Post 82 are appreciated.
