Mrs. Gloria Madole of the Town of Grafton passed away peacefully at her residence Friday evening, June 15, 2018, while surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.
Gloria was born in Chicago, IL on December 29, 1930, daughter of Edward W. and Martha Tomlinson World. She attended local schools and graduated from Bowen High School before continuing her education at Michigan State University. Ms. World married David Cox in 1948. The couple lived in Chicago and moved to Rockford, IL in 1956. They raised four children. In 1973, Gloria was united in marriage with John Madole. Gloria and John lived in Brown Deer and Bayside before moving to the Town of Grafton in 2007.
Mrs. Madole had worked as a deli and bakery manager for Jewel Osco, and later Sentry Foods, putting in over 50 years in the job. She loved to go antiquing, was an avid gardener and was a skilled decorator. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandkids.
Gloria is survived by her husband John, her four children: Nancy (Franz) Olson of Rockford, IL, David (Barb) Cox of Kirkland, IL, Michael (Judi) Cox of theTown of Grafton and Janie (Jeff) Grady of the Town of Cedarburg, as well as nine grandchildren: Sam, Andy, Cathy, Britney, Brant, Amanda, Nicole, Matthew and Samantha. She is further survived by 11 great-grandchildren, special nieces Megan Harkness-Madole and Jennifer LaFaive, cousin Kathryn Madole, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services are planned for 12PM on Tuesday, June 26th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Racine. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:30AM until time of services at 12 noon.
Memorials if desired, are suggested to Friends of Bill W – 24 Hour Club, or a charity of the donor's choice in Gloria's name.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton and at Horizon Hospice for all of the wonderful care and attention that Gloria received.
