Obituary

Glenn L. Wery Glenn Wery of Port Washington passed away in the evening hours of Monday May 16 2011 at Anita's Gardens in Port Washington. He was 89 years old. Glenn was born in Gladstone MI on June 10 1921 son of Octave and Lillian Faltmayer Wery. In August of 1942 Glenn volunteered to serve his country in the US Army where he served in the European African and Middle Eastern Theatres. On June 14 1947 he married Dorothy Wilson in Escanaba MI. The couple moved to the Port Washington area where Glenn found work at the Chair Factory. He soon moved on to become a boiler operator at the power plant in Port Washington for 33 years retiring in 1982. Glenn was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved traveling getting to all 50 states Mexico Canada and 13 countries in Europe. He also enjoyed fishing and watching sports on TV especially the Packers Brewers and the Badgers. Glenn is survived by his wife Dorothy of Port Washington four children: Thomas (Josephine) Wery of Oshkosh Barb Roska of Saukville James Wery of Port Washington and David (Karen) Wery of Dickson TN. He is further survived by four grandchildren; Jaime (Tanya) Wery of Allenton WI Janell (Daniel) Rutz of Madison Michael Roska of Saukville and Dominic Dambruch of Wisconsin Rapids two great-grandchildren Ronan Wery and Dominic Dambruch II one sister Elaine Landes of Derby KS one sister-in-law Phyllis Tolman of Escanaba MI nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents two sisters and two brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 20th at 7 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington with Father Pat Wendt officiating. Glenn will be entombed with military honors at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Port Washington. Visitation will be held on Friday May 20th at the CHURCH from 4:30-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family.
