Gertrude M. Bloecher Trudi Gertrude Bloecher of Mequon formerly of Port Washington passed away Thursday May 30 2013 at Horizon Hospice in Mequon. She was 84 years old. Gertrude was born March 20 1929 in Saukville the daughter of Herbert and Helen Bretscher Brunnquell. After graduating from Port Washington High School she received her RN degree at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for the VNA in Milwaukee served as the Public School Nurse in Ozaukee County and also gave in-home nursing care. On June 11 1955 she was united in marriage with Harold Bloecher at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. Harold preceded her in death in 2009. Trudi was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington where she had been involved with the Choir and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was also active with the Homemaker's Group the American Cancer Society and the Nursing Alumni. She loved to take care of people and enjoyed cooking and hosting gatherings for her family and friends. Trudi is survived by her daughter Amy of Mequon her son Karl grandchildren: Cartier Bloecher Ashley Bloecher Katelyn Ortiz Bloecher and Jacob Bloecher. She is further survived by 2 great-grandchildren her sister Elizabeth Gersonde of Wauwatosa her brother Paul (Elvira) Brunnquell of Port Washington nieces nephews and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold. A Memorial Service will be held at 6PM on Friday June 7 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 4-6PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested. The Eernisse Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
