Lifetime Thiensville-Mequon resident Gertrude E. Lorenz passed away at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon on Saturday July 27, 2019 at the age of 101. Gertrude Elizabeth Konitzer was born in Thiensville on September 19, 1917, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Nee Mayer) Konitzer. She was united in marriage to Arnold M. Lorenz at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Thiensville on August 31, 1940. They were married for 66 years until Arnold passed away in 2007. Gertrude will be missed dearly by her family. She was a generous, caring person with a warm welcoming smile who was the heart and soul of the family. She was an inspiration to all because of her unassuming wisdom and infinite patience. Survivors include her children Jerry (Mary) Lorenz, Sue Lorenz, Maxine Jahn, Rosanne (Don) Korinek and Joy Lorenz; grandchildren James Schmechel, Paula (Jack) Curtis, Brad (Melissa) Korinek Leanne (Shane) Albers and Angela (Ryan) Williamson; great-grandchildren Cadence Korinek, Matthew Korinek, Clarissa Curtis, Jackson Curtis, Sylas Albers, River Albers, Quinn Albers, Marley Albers, Oakley Williamson, Mya Sampson, Adia Sampson and Melissa DeLuca; further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son Donald Lorenz; grandchildren Kristina Schmechel and Monica Lorenz; siblings and their spouses Rose (Elmer) Flom, George (Esther) Konitzer, Theodore "Ted" (Frances) Konitzer, William "Bill" (Dawnine) Konitzer and Robert (Joanne) Konitzer Sr.. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 7, 2019 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2750 W. Mequon Rd, Mequon, WI. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton. Memorials to charity of donors choice appreciated. Visitation Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until time of Mass.
