GERTRUD A. CURTIS Mrs. Gertrud Curtis of Prospect Court in Port Washington passed away at Vitas Hospice Center in Wauwatosa on Sunday morning November 26 2006. She was 80 years old. Gertrud was born in Germany on April 6 1926 daughter of Jakob and Hedwig Mittnacht Denninger. She was united in marriage with Lucien Curtis in Bad Mergentheim Germany and later immigrated to America. Mrs. Curtis worked as a secretary for St. Regis Paper in Milwaukee starting in 1954 and retiring after 20 years. The couple moved to the Port Washington area in 1992. Gertrud enjoyed knitting and doing genealogy. She was an avid German crossword puzzle player and especially liked going online to read the daily German papers. Her family will remember her as Omi. She is survived by her husband Lucien their three children: Alvin (Jan Livingston) Curtis of Winchester VA Monica (James) Comeaux of New Orleans LA: and Patricia (William) Tannhaeuser of Port Washington. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren sister-in-law Grace (Dick) Eells of West Allis nieces other relatives and friends. Gertrud is preceded in death by her brother Alwin Denninger and grandson Billy Tannhaeuser. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 1st 2PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. Father James Ernster will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Port Washington.
