Germaine J. Buechler Geri Germaine Geri Buechler of Belgium passed away Monday morning July 27 2015 after a short stay at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 94 years old. Geri was born August 29 1920 in Sheboygan County the daughter of Joseph and Amalia (nee Schaerhoffer) Gangelbauer. On August 31 1940 she was united in marriage with Edwin Buechler Sr. at St. George Catholic Church in Oostburg. He preceded her in death in 1981. Geri worked on the family's farm as well as at local restaurants including The Homestead Bobo's in Stonecroft and Hobo's Restaurant. Geri was a member of Divine Savior Parish St. Mary Chapel in Lake Church where she had been active with the Christian Women. She enjoyed gardening playing cards square dancing and interacting with friends she made while waitressing and being a hostess. Geri is survived by two daughters: Kathleen (the late Patrick) Kernan of Port Washington and Carol (the late Ed) Eckert of Sheboygan. She is further survived by two daughters-in-law: Judy (the late Edwin Jr.) Buechler of Belgium and Cheri (the late Frederick) Buechler of Cedar Grove 9 grandchildren 22 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin Sr. sons Frederick and Edwin Jr. and 3 sisters: Marie Barchacky Verona Lorier and Rita Schuessler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Friday July 31 2015 at Divine Savior Parish Holy Cross Chapel 5330 Hwy B in Belgium. Father Jim Ernster will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 3-6PM. Geri will be laid to rest at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care at the end of her journey.
