Geraldine Watry of Port Washington, formerly of Fredonia, passed away in the afternoon hours of Friday, August 17, 2018 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was 92 years old. Gerry was born in Belgium on June 10, 1926, daughter of Eugene "Frenchy" and Susan Antoine. She attended grade school in Lake Church and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1944. On April 29, 1950 she married Kenneth Watry at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church. He preceded her in death in 1988. Gerry worked as a bookkeeper for Allen Edmonds Shoe Company in Belgium before her marriage to Kenneth. After marriage, the couple moved to Fredonia, where she worked as the part-time bookkeeper for 84 Sales & Service (Watry's Inc.). She considered her true calling to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. Geraldine was a longtime member of Divine Savior Parish (St. Rose) where she was a choir member. Gerry loved to work as an election volunteer for the Village of Fredonia. She was also very active in the many activities offered at Harbor Village. She enjoyed knitting and watching her favorite Wisconsin sports teams. She is survived by her children Donna (Robert) Kolanko, Mary Rae (Robert) Mauch, Peter (Kathi) Watry, and Kenneth (Linda) Watry. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren: Robert and Donald Kolanko, Nicholas and Jeremy Mauch, Benjamin (Rebecca) Mauch, Rebecca (Zachary) Lambo, Noah, Justin and Gabrielle Watry, Alexandria (Jared) Waning, Elizabeth (Brandon) Mikulski, Scott, Brady and Daniel Watry, Amanda (Jimmy) Hepner, Kylie (Nicholas) Lorge, seven great-grandchildren: Madeline, Savannah, Kate, Julia, Miles, Leah, and one on the way, her sister Bernice (Warren) Haseley, sister-in-law Pat Watry, niece, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gerry is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, grandson Dominic Watry, brother Raymond Antoine, and brother-in-law Fanny Watry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 22nd at 5 PM at Divine Savior Parish – St. Rose Chapel, 305 Fredonia Ave., Fredonia. Father Neil Zinthefer will preside over the Mass. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Rose of Lima Parish Cemetery, Fredonia. Visitation will take place at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Wednesday, August 22nd from 2:30-4:30 PM.
