GERALDINE J. FLAHERTY "GERRY" Mrs. Geraldine Flaherty of Port Washington went to Heaven on March 4, 2017, following a bout of pneumonia. She was 84 years old. Gerry was born on June 27, 1932 in Emily, MN, daughter of August and Mildred Deshayes. She was united in marriage with Ray Flaherty on December 3, 1955 at the Crosby Assembly of God in Crosby, MN. The couple moved to Port Washington in 1971 and Gerry assisted her husband in the family business, Flaherty Chevrolet & Olds, for many years. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ray Flaherty, and their three children: Mark, Mike (Cheryl) and Kay (Kent) Frey. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Katelyn, Tyler, Lexi and Chris Frey, and Mitchell Flaherty, sister Juanita (James) Ashcroft, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. A Memorial Service will be held at 6PM on Monday, March 13, at Portview Church, 3456 County Road LL, in Port Washington. Pastor Mark Larson will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Church on Monday from 3-6PM with refreshments to follow the service. Memorials are suggested to Port View Youth Group in lieu of flowers. Gerry's wish was to have her body donated to science, so that she may continue to help and benefit others. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton for the extraordinary care given to Gerry during her stay.
