Mr. Gerald Wagner of Saukville passed away early Sunday morning, September 10, 2017, at Sarah Chudnow LTC in Mequon. He was 76 years old. Jerry was born in Sheboygan on July 11, 1941, son of Elaine (nee Jung) and John M. Wagner, Jr. . The family lived in Fredonia and Jerry attended local schools, graduating from Port Washington High School with the Class of 1959. Mr. Wagner served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea as a Huey Aircraft Mechanic. On November 5, 1966, Gerald was united in marriage with Darlene J. Learned at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Fredonia. The couple settled in the Waubeka area, later moving with their daughter to the Town of Saukville in 1981. Mr. Wagner worked as a steelworker for the Continental Can Co. in Milwaukee until the company closed, and then worked with his uncle at Complete Improvements in Saukville. Jerry was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast; he enjoyed riding as often as possible, most recently on his Harley Davidson. He and Darlene liked to travel on the bike all summer long and had visited Canada and many of the lower states. When not on his bike, Jerry enjoyed shooting trap at the Saukville Gun Club, hunting, and spending time outside in the yard socializing with family and friends around the pool. He also liked to fish, boat, golf and bowl. Mr. Wagner is survived by his loving wife Darlene of Saukville, their daughter Raquel McCarthy of West Allis, and grandson Jonathon McCarthy, also of Saukville. He is further survived by his brother Neil (JoAnn) Wagner of Fredonia, sister JoAnn (the late Leander) Kultgen of Random Lake, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Elaine. As per Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
