Saukville
Gerald “Jerry” A. Bongard, age 74, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 19, 1951, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Norman and Alice (nee Satre) Bongard. Jerry graduated from Pulaski High School. Jerry was a tool and dye maker for Pace Industries in Grafton for 40+ years. He was united in marriage with Kathleen Johnson on March 23, 1974, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.
Jerry enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He found his peace floating in his boat on a lake in Northern Wisconsin. He was an avid sports fan always cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Above all, Jerry cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife Kathy, children Craig (Adrianne) Bongard, and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Derra, grandchildren Elizabeth and Douglas Bongard, and Jacob and James Derra. He is further survived by his siblings the late brother Gene (Barb), Larry (the late Marcie), the late Jeff (Kris), Judy, and John (DeeDee), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Douglas and Marilyn Johnson, sisters-in-law Christine (Larry) Oetezl, and Karen Johnson.
Per Jerry’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s of Wisconsin in honor of Jerry Bongard are greatly appreciated.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff with the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin.
