IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Georgia
Janza
February 16, 1942 – April 3, 2023
Georgia Gene Janza (nee Rydell)
Passed away peacefully on April 3, 2023, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jim. Loving mother of Jeff (Monica) of Cedarburg and Greg (Molly) of San Francisco. Cherished Nana of Courtney, Lauren and Olivia, and adoring Grandma to Duke and Callie. Loving sister to Carol Sallmann and special Aunt to Michael (Carol) and Janice. Georgia is also survived by many wonderful, loving longtime friends.
Georgia had many passions, including spending time swimming in the backyard pool with friends and family, taking walks through Greenfield Park, traveling with Jim (especially to San Francisco) and volunteering her time teaching kids at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Georgia was an elementary school teacher for 30+ years in the Milwaukee Public Schools. She also loved making new
adventures with her grandchildren. Whether it was story time at the West Allis Library, an outing to the Zoo to feed the giraffes
or a Sunday afternoon at the Milwaukee Public Museum (where the butterfly exhibit was her favorite). She loved being active
in her church, tending to her flower gardens, reading and spending time with her Book Club friends (the Worms).
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday July 15 at St. Joseph Parish Catholic Church, 1619
Washington St, Grafton. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until time of Mass at 11:00AM.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Village Pointe Commons as well as the
loving caregivers of Legacy Hospice who watched over Georgia in her final days. Donations in place of flowers could be made
to either The Salvation Army of Greater Milwaukee or The Milwaukee County Zoo.
