Obituary

Pastor George W. Kallenbach Pastor George Kallenbach of Pioneer Road in Cedarburg passed away Monday evening July 23 2012 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was 73 years old. George was born on July 29 1938 son of George and Clementine Wiesmueller Kallenbach. He attended local schools and joined the US Navy in 1955. He proudly served until 1961. In 1963 he was united in marriage with Patricia Gandt. She later preceded him in death. George followed his father into the plumbing industry eventually earning his Master Plumber certification. He worked at Wuenne Plumbing in Grafton until he retired in 2000. In 1988 he married Jean Herek. The couple lived in Thiensville before moving to Cedarburg in 1994. Mr. Kallenbach enjoyed photography and became a freelance photographer. He worked around Ozaukee County later working exclusively for the News Graphic starting in 1998. His photography was featured at the Cedarburg Cultural Center from Mat through August 2003. George heard the call of God and became a missionary starting Kallenbach Missions International in 1999. He had a passion for children a desire and willingness to serve a love for Guatemala and a heart for God. Beyond his mission work George had a love for his family and truly enjoyed a good cup of coffee. In his younger days he raced motorcycles: in the late 50's and early 60's he was sponsored by Harley Davidson. He raced as an independent in the 1970's. George liked to go hunting fishing and target shooting as well as just spending time outdoors. He was best known for his great sense of humor. George is survived by his loving wife Jean their five children: Kevin (Carijean) Kallenbach of Milwaukee Steve (Jeanette) Kallenbach of West Bend Catherine (Tim) Liston of Wautoma Theresa Tomasik of Sheboygan and Carl (Jennifer) Tomasik of Oxford. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren: Christopher Caitlin Alexandrea James Thomas Jonathan Stephanie and Lauren other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Rose Marie Kallenbach and Elaine Samp. A celebration of George's life will take place at 7PM on Monday July 30th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg. Pastor Brent Wiede will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral home on Monday from 6-7PM. In accordance with George's wishes the family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Kallenbach Missions International to further George's work in Guatemala.
