George R. Konitzer George Konitzer, of Port Washington, passed away in the evening hours of Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 75 years old. George was born on September 18, 1942 at home in Thiensville, the second child of George T. Konitzer and Esther Ann Lederer Konitzer. George graduated from Cedarburg High School, then honorably served his country in the US Air Force. After being discharged from the Air Force, George started working at Simplicity Manufacturing in Port Washington as an assembler, retiring after more than 30 years with the company. George loved the outdoors, and spent a lot of time at his land in Waupaca. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and rooting for Wisconsin sports teams. He is survived by his siblings Charles (Nancy) Konitzer of Phoenix, AZ and Sandra (James) Rodell of West Bend. He is further survived by his close friend Rosemary Godersky of Jackson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and his cat, Blackie. He is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Konitzer Sr., and James Konitzer. Funeral services for George will be held on Monday, March 5th at 12 Noon at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Deacon Thomas Surges will preside over the service. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on the 5th from 11 AM until the time of the services.
