George J. Hollrith age 89 years of Grafton passed away Thursday April 2 2015 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was born February 22 1926 in Grafton son of Joseph and Isabelle (Johannes) Hollrith. He graduated from Grafton High School and joined the U.S. Navy where he served aboard minesweepers as an electricians mate. On July 4 1953 he married Ann O'Connor at St. Jude Catholic Church in Beloit. George attended Marquette University graduating in 1962 with a degree in business administration. Shortly after graduating from Marquette he started Hollrith Realty in Grafton built custom homes for over 25 years and after 40 years was still a licensed real estate broker. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg. George was currently a member of Rose Harms American Legion in Grafton Knights of Columbus Port Washington BMW Club National Wild Turkey Foundation Wisconsin and National Realtors Association NRA and a former national race commissioner of the United States Snowmobile Association. He served on the Grafton School Board for 25 years. George enjoyed hunting fishing antique cars motorcycles blue grass music and spending time with his family grandchildren and great grandson. He is survived by his wife Ann three children Scott Hollrith of Grafton Ann (Richard) Volesky of Port Washington and Will (Kristine) Hollrith of Grafton 8 grandchildren Jennifer Hollrith Dr. Ashley (Bryan) Medinger Mary Hollrith Emily Hollrith Joseph Hollrith Stephanie Volesky Keegan Hollrith and Sarah Volesky one great grandson Easton Medinger his sister Jean (the late Donald) Sharp his brother Paul (Barbara) Hollrith nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Margaret Hollrith his son Thomas Hollrith his grand daughter Chelsea Hollrith and his brother Joseph Hollrith Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday evening April 10 6 PM at St. Francis Borgia North Catholic Church 1375 Covered Bridge Road Cedarburg with Father Pat Wendt presiding. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Grafton. Visitation at the CHURCH Friday from 3:30 - 6 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Francis Borgia Building Fund appreciated. The Eernisse Funeral Home Cedarburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
