GENROSE S. BRABENDER Mrs. Genrose Brabender of Lighthouse Communities in West Bend formerly of Belgium Mequon and Tucson passed away at Kathy Hospice in West Bend early Sunday morning May 3 2015. She was 90 years old. Genrose was born in the Town of Belgium on January 3 1925 daughter of John and Sylvina Rach Hubing. On June 17 1944 she was united in marriage with Alex Brabender at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. The couple settled in Belgium and moved to Mequon in 1955. They later moved to Tucson AZ. Alex preceded her in death in 2006 and Gen moved back to Wisconsin in 2012. Mrs. Brabender enjoyed camping traveling and square dancing; she and Alex were founding members of Square Benders Square Dance Club and the National Square Dance Campers Association. Mrs. Brabender also volunteered her time at Mequon Care Center for many years. She is survived by her two daughters Jean Spry of Grafton and Susan (the late Victor) Doers of Theresa two grandsons Myron Mick Spry of Port Washington and John Spry of Belfield ND and two great-grandchildren: Mikaela and Ryan Spry both of Tucson AZ. She is further survived by three sisters: Gertrude (the late Ed) Fieber of Port Washington Kathleen (the late Ken) Bares Mary (the late Gene) Bares both of Belgium three brothers: Norbert (the late Esther) Melvin (Sandy) and Gerald (Arline) Hubing all of Belgium sister-in-law Violet Brabender of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband 3 infant daughters 2 sisters Agnes Bahr Regina Augustine and 5 brothers: Emil Donald Robert Joe and John. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Thursday May 7th at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel W4274 Hwy K Dacada. Father Todd Budde will preside. She will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery beside her husband. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Thursday from 9-11AM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. .
