Gene R. Linden of Saukville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was 86 years old. Gene was born to Mathew Sr. and Lydia (nee Ellenbecker) Linden on December 12, 1930 in Thiensville. He married the late Phyllis Irwin at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville on May 19, 1963.
Gene was a member of the Milwaukee Carpenters Union for fifty years. He remodeled and built many homes including taking part in the restoration of the bridge in Lime Kiln Park and Saukville Crossroads Museum where he also volunteered. He was a model train and car enthusiast and paint by numbers hobbyist. Gene refurbished antique cars and trucks and displayed them in local parades.
Gene is survived by his brother, Charles Linden of California, sister, Bonnie (Bill) Thurston of Nevada and brother, Otto (Mary) Linden of North Carolina; sister-in-law Kathryn Linden of Saukville; niece Lois Linden (Phillip Newby) of Grafton, other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, brothers, Jerome, Mathew Jr. Fredrick, Leland, and sister Margery.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Eernisse Funeral Home (1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg, WI 53012). Visitation will be at the FUNERAL HOME from 10:30AM until the time of service. Private family interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington.
